AvreaFoster Internship
In the summer of 2023, I was a creative intern at the marketing agency AvreaFoster in Dallas, Texas. It was an incredible learning experience where I really got a taste of what working in a successful agency looks like. I worked alongside another intern, Patterson Guyton, and we gained great experience by sitting in on internal creative reviews and all agency meetings, collaborating with different departments, and presenting our own proposals and progress reports to the office. We were entrusted with extending their recent rebrand by designing business cards, t-shirts, and office signage. I created a video for the reception area to welcome guests into the office, and we worked together with copywriters to storyboard the digital holiday card produced that year.

Collaborate: A Personal Project
At the start of the internship, my mentor and point person Lisa Goin (SVP and Creative Lead at AvreaFoster) told us interns that at the end of our internship, we should create a personal project that represented our biggest takeaway from our time there. Throughout the summer we wrote down all the advice we were given and determined our biggest takeaway was the importance of collaboration. We saw how employees across different disciplines and departments effectively worked together to foster a successful business and culture and applied this advice to a brochure called “Personality Type”.
Personality Type uses various typographic styles to examine the traits that contribute to AvreaFoster’s success. I created different hand-drawn letters that represented all the traits we observed and included the advice given to us in a folding brochure with interactive folding tabs. We both created patterns using the AvreaFoster letters “AF” as well to include on the front and inside.
